What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brands, the business offers a number of bed mattress designs, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: Individuals with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a mix of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. Also, as with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
Factors to consider: Adjustable Saatva Mattress
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some movement, decreasing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more movement than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show useful if you’re unsure what you choose or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate resilience, the Zenhaven needs to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These bed mattress were also examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the mattress industry and in products science; checked out dozens of bed mattress display rooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
