What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brands, the business offers several mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: People with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a combination of pressure relief and bounce Most online bed mattress are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It’s one of the few innerspring mattresses you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. Also, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.

When their partner stirs might discover the Saatva transfers more motion than suitable, individuals who are easily awoken Individuals who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva adheres carefully adequate The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.

The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show useful if you’re not exactly sure what you choose or if your needs alter in time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.

For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I have actually talked to scores of professionals in the mattress market and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the small print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. But we do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spine support”; we’re less amazed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
